Wonder Woman

I hadn't really been planning on going to see Wonder Woman because I've been feeling kind of burned out on superhero movies, but then the reactions started to get posted over the last few days, and seeing so many people be enthusiastic about this movie made me go WELL FINE and go and see it.

AND LO IT WAS GREAT.

I mean it was still a superhero movie and I'm still kind of burned out on them, and also it was a war movie and I am never going to love war movies. But it was a superhero movie that centred on a wonderful female character, and it was a war movie that had an explicit theme of wanting there to be no more wars ever, so you know, I was there for it.

TBH my fave part of the movie was the whole opening sequence on Themiscyra. So refreshing to see that many female characters and not a man in sight, when we're so used to seeing the opposite in movies like this! I want all the fics about Themiscyra.

Also I really appreciated that although a lot of the movie was spent with men trying to tell Diana what to do, she kept on being like "fuck that I am going to do what's RIGHT not what's appropriate or safe." YEAH ROCK ON DIANA.

I don't think I have a lot else to say about this movie right now, but: it was great and I'm glad I saw it.
