Huh, wow, that really intrigues me. I think I need to go stalk that blog for a while at some point! Affirmational fandom (yes, you got the terminology right, and I love the terminology, and the acknowledgement that both versions of fanning exist and both are valid) is something that I have very little visceral understanding of. I'm incapable of being interested in anything without wanting to get transformative all over it.
