Yeah, a lot of the things that probably read to you as mildly baffling about Victor are just pretty run-of-the-mill "OTT homoerotic anime dude" in a way that in fact made me keep thinking "okay but they're just going HARD with the homoerotic anime tropes" (I hesitate to call it "queerbaiting" because it's contextually/culturally not quite the same thing?) -- so episode 10 is AMAZING because, while it recontextualizes Victor so you understand he was caught in a romantic misunderstanding, it ALSO recontextualizes the show from being "standard homoerotic shenanigans" to "ACTUAL ROMCOM WE'RE NOT KIDDING EVEN A LITTLE." So yeah, it is 100% being deliberately textually gay and I am SO HAPPY.
