Yuri on Ice rewatch
This week I rewatched Yuri!!! On Ice for the first time since I saw it, about two and a half years ago, and it's really disconcerting! I don't rewatch tv much, given how hard I find it to watch tv in the first place, but all of a sudden I felt the burning need to rewatch YOI so here I find myself.
I'm fascinated to see which shots/scenes are super familiar to me because they come up regularly in vids and gifsets or are referred to in fics/meta etc, and which things I had totally and completely forgotten about in the intervening years.
I'm also fascinated to see how I continue to find the whole show mildly baffling despite my love of it, and despite all the fanfiction I've read. I dunno, it's just a very different medium than I'm at all used to parsing!
Anyway I continue to have a lot of feelings about all the characters, and I think I cried in at least three episodes, so like, the show is clearly succeeding with me regardless.
I feel like I sated my urge towards fanfic for this show, in the explosion during/after its original airing, so I doubt I'm going to actively seek more out at this point. But I'm glad to have been able to relive it all through the rewatch. What a good.
