oh yeah, I should have made it clearer that I'm aware of the inspirations for Teixcalaan! It's just that despite the connections the two books are so very different from each other that it's interesting to think of them as connected.

After finishing this book I went and googled what else Moreno-Garcia has written or is writing because I wanted more, but yeah, it looks like she has a great deal of fun genre-hopping. Which I'm glad that makes her happy! But I am unlikely to read more of her books, that means - especially not a thriller. Ah well. I hope you enjoy her new book!
