I also just finished rereading the first volume and I was really surprised by how much I'd forgotten! There's a TON of stuff about Shen Yuan's family/past that I'd always assumed was just collective fanon, but is in fact right there in the text -- and I'm paying a lot more attention to the makeup of the peaks and the characterization of the other disciples than I did the first time when I was just zooming through. (And the art is indeed TRULY gorgeous!)
