Oh fascinating, and I can understand that reaction too! idk, I guess I just felt, for myself at least, like the narrative joined Harriet and Peter in being uncomfortable with it at the end? Which is why they had to be packed off in the end instead of sitting with that uncomfortableness and learning anything from it, I think, because you're so right about that last sentence!
