Odd and the Frost Giants, by Neil Gaiman
Mostly a very nice little story about a Norse boy saving Asgard from the Frost Giants. I don't have a lot else to say about it.
Except that it is unfortunately one of those stories where a disabled main character is fixed at the end as a reward for what he's accomplished. (He's not 100% healed but it is still close enough to the trope to count.)
And also what is up with the way the relationship between Odd's parents' is portrayed? I'm pretty sure we're supposed to read it as the dad stealing the mom against her will, and then them ending up in love with each other in a happy marriage. But he kidnapped her against her will! When they didn't even have any language in common, he just thought she was pretty and went "want" and took! And then he ~nobly refrains from having sex with her until they're able to talk with each other, as if this makes it any better, and as if she's in any position to give or refuse consent meaningfully!
