Cotillion, by Georgette Heyer
Sometimes a person just needs to reread some charming and lighthearted Heyer. This is a pretty good one for that.
I do love how very well suited Freddy and Kitty are for each other. This is one of those rare romance novels where I am 100% convinced the main characters would have an entirely functional and happy relationship with each other for the rest of their lives. They communicate well with each other! They share largely the same priorities in life! They genuinely enjoy each other's company and think highly of each other! Yes good thank you.
(Dear future self if I choose to reread this book again: the ending of this book turns out to be NOT AT ALL STRESSFUL IN THE WAYS YOU CAN'T HELP IMAGINING so you don't need to worry when things start looking like they might collapse. Everything's fine!)
