Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

WELL I have now seen the latest Star War.

I don't love everything it chose to do, but you know, I had a bunch of feelings, so it was doing something right.

Some things I didn't like:

- KYLO REN WHY ARE YOU A MAIN CHARACTER, YOU ARE SO BORING

- Rose was hardly in the movie at all :( I liked Rose!

- Why......why was Poe a spice runner, Poe is not Han, Poe is allowed to have his own backstory

- Do we really need to have Palps back as the main big bad again?

- Treating stormtroopers like cannon fodder feels way more awkward when one of your main characters used to be one so there is PROOF that they can be COMPLICATED PEOPLE IN THEIR OWN RIGHT and not just there to be shot down in large numbers with zero angst.

- Rey continued to seem tempted by the dark side and I don't feel like it's clear why. A bunch of close-ups on her face as she has feelings do not an explanation make.

Some things I did like:

- Still do just love the main trio tbh

- More stormtrooper defectors, Finn's not the only one!

- LEIA

- Star Wars is good at magnificent and dramatic set-pieces

- The theme that blood is not the only thing that matters, who your birth-family was does not determine who you will end up being

- the cute wee cone-headed droid was a charming new addition

- Lando Calrissian is back! Love that dude.

- THAT'S NOT A NAVY, IT'S JUST....PEOPLE

- lengthy three-way hug at the end because Finn and Poe and Rey all just care about each other so much!!!
