ah, this book is actually entirely about hand-sewing, so I'm afraid it would not be useful for what your daughter is looking to learn. And I haven't ever really looked at any sewing manuals for machine sewing so I don't have any other recommendations to offer. But I hope she is able to find the resources that will work for her!
