5 things: my fashion, how online am I, sensory processing, bedroom ceiling painting, short stories

one

one of the things I've been figuring out about how I want to dress these days is that it's valuable to look back on the kinds of clothes/outfits I admired when I was a kid but didn't know how to achieve at the time

so that includes things I'm achieving or attempting to various degrees like:

- layers
- lace up boots
- fun colours
- themed patterns à la ms frizzle
- fancy
- being matchy with colours to tie everything together
- hats
- things I make for myself

and implies I should also be seriously considering things like:

- lace embellishments
- suspenders
- bowties and other non-standard neckwear
- capes or cloaks
- sparkly
- drapey fabrics
- dramatic sleeves
- pocketwatch on a fancy chain

two

I was completing a survey recently and it asked what social media sites you spend time on. all the ones it listed are ones I don't go on, and there was no "other" option.

making me come across as a super offline person there, survey!! not accurately capturing the vibe!

three

sometimes I reflect on how amazing it is that it took me so many years of my life to learn I have sensory processing issues

but then I never had any experience of other ways to be, to compare to!

four

scrolling through my list of potential hobby things to work on* and omg I forgot I had that idea about painting my bedroom ceiling midnight blue with gold stars on it! that would look so rad. SOMEDAY.

* I have a written list bc otherwise I'd forget what my options even are. I have so many!

five

the other evening I read (or skimmed, or dnf'd) TWENTY-SIX professionally published short stories/novelettes in order to find one story that's good enough to rec publicly

WHEW

my service to the world....

and I have 62 more waiting for me rn in my rss queue. my work is ongoing!

how are SO many people so bad at survey design?

The joke answer: so people like me can stay employed XD

Survey design is a whole thing! (not that I am great at it, but yeah, people can be very, very bad at thinking through their questions).
