Yeah, Fitzgerald is pretty ridiculous. I bounced hard off his Odyssey the first time, but parts of it have grown on me. It's now the version I own and reread before I reapproach Ulysses, though that's mainly because it was dirt cheap at a book sale. But when I bounced hard off his Iliad I switched to Lombardo and was like "Damn, this is awesome!"
