River talk

Tonight some friends and I rewatched Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead. It was weird! It was the first time I'd seen those episodes since River returned in season 5, and the first time I'd seen those episodes with the knowledge that River is Amy and Rory's daughter. And I found myself...really loving River, like actually genuinely enjoying her without having to put effort into it like I usually do. AWESOME. Apparently recontextualizing her as Amy and Rory's daughter actually did awesome things to the connections my brain makes and now I'm totally cool with her or something? I mean, I still don't ship River/Doctor. But other than that!

So. That was cool.

To talk about something entirely different from those episodes, oh gosh, I'd totally forgotten about Lee, Donna's husband in the computer! OHHHH LEE! HE NEEDS ALL THE HUGS. Also he needs fic written about him giving him a happy ending. He deserves happiness in real life too! Did anyone ever actually write fic about him?

YAY, I am glad you love River now! I suspect that everyone kind of loves River now, but I know that it is a delightful experience, so. :D

I am glad toooooo! Although I keep on having to remind myself not to let my thoughts fall back into their old patterns re: River. This epiphany needs to stick around.

Apparently before A Good Man Goes to War Moffat tweeted something about "you've known it all along" or something? Which I think is INACCURATE, but now I want to rewatch these anyway just to make sure.

Well, I'm pretty sure my friends and I are doing a rewatch of all the River episodes so now I am going to be KEEPING MY EYE OUT because I'm a little squinty-eyed disbelieving at that tweet of Moffat's.

I actually haven't started series 6 (for I am too lazy to look for downloads) but I've been spoiled. :-( Not by you, though. Anyway, it took me a second watch through to warm up to River in the Silent Library episode. I was too busy loving Donna that any other women having relations with the Doctor would bother me. xD

You totally SHOULD watch series 6! Or at the very least, the, um, 4th episode I think? The one called "The Doctor's Wife". Because it is SO AWESOME.

I love Donna toooooo! She's so great, and I was heartbroken when she left. She's still my favourite of all the companions. (although she wasn't the reason I had trouble with River.)

& True Blood just aired last night. AUGH HBO RUINING MY LIFE.
