This is exactly what I want out of fantasy YA: a book about the complexities of FAMILY and IDENTITY and also incidentally a lesbian romance B-plot that is not turned into an Issue. Also it's based on a fairy tale. What's not to love????

(okay I wrote those three sentences intending them to be the opening of a longer review but I honestly think that's all I have to say and need to say?)
