Dragon Age: Origins
Oct. 14th, 2014 08:34 pmToday I made my first forays into the world of "real" gaming. There's some kind of promotion thing with Dragon Age Origins being given away for free until the end of today and I was like "well okay I guess I'll try it" because as they say, free is the best price.
So far I have:
I am an A+ gamer
So far I have:
- been unimpressed with the lack of realism in the blood spatter patterns in the backstory thing, and also with the only female characters showing up to scream and run away and/or die
- been overwhelmed by the degree to which your character's appearance is customizable - does the nose REALLY need to be that complicated?
- been actually confused by how the ability to make your character have a realistic dark skin tone was apparently too hard to include
- flailed around a GREAT DEAL in the tutorial bit - "aaah aaah aaah there is a thing shooting at me WHAT DO I DOOOOOO" and then utterly failed in my attempts to run away because I hadn't worked out how to run in the direction I want yet
- been annoyed that I can't try out ALL the options when I get a chance to respond so I can figure out what kind of results to expect from various responses
- convinced a dude to give me a thing instead of fighting me awww yeah can I do this with everything? Can I do this with the demon I'm supposed to confront?
- "oh look the game just saved, EXCELLENT, time for me to give up for the day even though I haven't even completed this minor prologue mission"
- the title promised me dragons, where are the dragons?
I am an A+ gamer
