Timeloop recs time!
Jun. 7th, 2013 09:24 pmYeah, remember when I did recs? ME NEITHER.
ANYWAYS. Here are three fics about timeloops that do something out of the ordinary with them and do so really well!
This is one where the entire events of the fic are just one conversation on one day of the timeloop, and nothing actually gets solved. And wow, it inspires a million feels.
Holy crap, this fic. I was blown away by it when I read it upon it first being posted, and alas it is too long for me to reread it right now just for the sake of writing this rec properly. But wow. So there's a timeloop, but instead of the fix being, like, figuring something out about your life or whatever, they have to build technology to fix it. But how do you do that when you only ever have one day to do the entire process? DUDE. (also feels, of course. But also lots of DUDE over the story itself!)
Here a person is deliberately creating the timeloop and letting it keep on reiterating until the desired outcome is achieved. And it is, um, not a cheery story. Content notes include lots of death and lots of unhealthy attitudes towards dying and killing. But it is really powerful and definitely worth reading.
